Nancy Edwards Washam, 84, passed away on May 14th at her home in Greensboro, NC.
A memorial service will be held at the mausoleum at Lakeview Memorial Park on Friday, May 17th at 11am. The family will receive friends at George Brothers Funeral Home on Thursday, May 16th from 6-8 p.m.
Born in High Point, NC, Nancy was the daughter of the late Benjamin Edwards and Louise Hayworth Edwards. Nancy dedicated her life to her family and was co-founder with her husband, ‘Bill’ of Gate City Towing, Inc. She graduated from Allen Jay.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, William ‘Bill’, her sister, Betty Sue Miller and her brother, Johnnie Edwards.
Nancy is survived by her children, Ed (Janet); Tom (Terri); Patty; Jean Almstead (Mike); and six grandchildren; Amanda Doss (Chris), Kara Washam, Kyle Washam (Becca), Kayla Almstead, Christina Almstead and Abbie Almstead.
The family would like to give special thanks to Patty for the special care she gave to her mother so she could be at home and to those at Hospice Community Home Care.
