Rev. David M. Mabe, age 71, of Greensboro, went home to his Heavenly Father unexpectedly on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at his residence.
The family will receive friends from 5:00pm-6:30pm Thursday at New Hope Baptist Church, Burlington, NC with the funeral immediately following, with Rev.
Randy Hobbs and Rev. Jeff Stone officiating. Private burial will be Friday at 11:00 am at Floral Gardens Memorial Park in High Point.
Rev. Mabe was born in Guilford County to the late Lemuel James and Selma Allen Mabe. He pastored, before retiring with 17 years of faithful service. He was an active member of New Hope Baptist Church, where he served as the Assistant Sunday School Teacher of the Welcome Bible Class, a choir member, and an usher. He also served on the missions committee, nursing home ministries, and activity director for the senior citizens. Along serving his Lord and Savior as a minister, he served his country in the United States Air Force, from October of 1968 - October of 1971, in Kuriat, Thailand. He was an avid supporter of his 11 grandchildren at every sports/academic event.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years Gail Johnson Mabe of Greensboro; daughters Carolyn Stone (Jeff) of Greensboro, Andrea Cox (T.J.) of Mebane, and Ashley Rubio (Abraham) of Whitsett; brothers Tim Mabe (Terri) of Trinity, and Joel Mabe of Danville, VA. He was adored by his grandchildren Monroe Stone, Hannah Stone, Tristan Rubio, Olivia Cox, Caleb Stone, Dylan Cox, Joshua Stone, Grant Stone, Natalia Rubio, Ethan Rubio, and Hamilton Stone.
