Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Fairview Baptist Church with Pastor Sam Holder officiating and being assisted by Pastor Brett Seawell. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend C L and Margaret Walker.
Richard enjoyed the outdoors and was happiest hunting and fishing with his boys. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he loved to play with them.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 27 years, Cheryl Walker; son, Christopher Walker (Brittney); son, Steven Walker; daughter, Kayla Thompson (Ryan); daughter, Laureen Walker; grandchildren, Hannah, Caraline, Hailyn, Elliana, and Madilyn on the way; brother, Roger Walker (Elaine) ; sisters, Glenda George and Mary Hudgins (Tom); several nieces and nephews; and special longtime friends, Ronald Poole and Chris Nelson.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at Fairview Baptist Church.
