Robert Howard Wagner, 86, of Greensboro died Monday, May 21, 2018 at Hospice of Greensboro’s Beacon Place.
Funeral will be 2:00 PM Friday, May 25, 2018 at George Brothers Funeral Service with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Robert was and will always be an unforgettable personality. He spent years as a window artist/fashion coordinator at major New York, New Jersey and Vermont department stores. He returned to Greensboro to care for his mother in her declining years. Upon his return he is best known for his work at Hyalyn Lamps and Lion’s Crown Antiques. If an opinion was needed he provided such and was most often right. Customers loved him. In his later years while residing at the Carillon on Lawndale Avenue he led the glee club, the exercise group and was an avid bingo caller and participant. He didn’t stop.
He leaves behind a void but also endless good memories. He would always say “lets party”. He would be the life of a party not because he wanted to be but because he was.
Robert was the son of the late William Eugene Wagner and Nellie Mae Cole Wagner. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Richard and his twin brother, William (Bill).
He is survived by cousins and nephews and a host of friends who treasured his spunk, vitality and excellent taste.
Family and friends will gather at the funeral home from 1-2 PM Friday prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro NC, 27405 or to the Greensboro Urban Ministry, 305 West Gate City Boulevard, Greensboro, NC 27406.
