Verley Voys (Collins) Idol

Verley Voys Idol, 82, of Greensboro went home to be with her Lord on and her Heavenly reward on Sunday, September 16, 2018 while at Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro’s Beacon Place following several years of declining health.

Funeral will be 3:00 PM Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Shining Light Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Voys was born February 1, 1936 in Surry County, NC to the late James and Verda Collins. She was a faithful servant to her Lord, her husband, and her church. She worked for several years in the school cafeteria at Shining Light Christian Academy. Along with her husband, Reverend Porter Idol, was a long-time member of Shining Light Baptist Church. She is now, this day, in the presence of her Lord and her beloved husband, Porter.

Voys is survived by a large family that will miss her dearly.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 Saturday, September 22, 2018 at George Brothers Funeral Service.
