Virginia F. Horner

Virginia F. Horner, 95, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday morning, July 15, 2018.

Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Tuesday at Cornerstone Baptist Church with Pastor Bill Davis officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.The burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.

Virginia was born November 21, 1922, in Lake View, SC to the late Joseph James Fisher and Estelle Long Fisher. She started the church in her living room in 1964 and has remained a faithful and charter member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star since 1970, the White Shrine since 1972, the Order of Amaranth, the Rebekahs, and the Odd Fellows. Her life was spent serving others through these organizations. As her earthly life was ending, Virginia spent her last few days singing hymns and praising God.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Lance Lee Horner; her sons, Chesley Lee Horner and Bill Rouse and her sister, Darlene Powell.

Virginia is survived by her two grandchildren, Tony Rouse and Jimmy Rouse; special friends, Nancy Way, Cynthia Harrison and Mrs. Aredlia Matthews; her adopted family, Bill Davis "Baby Boy", Debbie Davis, Will Davis, Bethany Kapuscinski and Dustin Kapuscinski and by her loving church family from Cornerstone Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church, 3228 Hines Chapel Road, Greensboro, NC 27405.
