Ronald Wesley “Wes” Townsend, Jr., 41, of Randleman went home to be with his beloved Jesus and sweet sister Carol Marie Townsend Griffin on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at the Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.
A Celebration of his life will be 2:00 PM Saturday, June 2, 2018 at George Brothers Funeral Service.
Wes was a Duke basketball fan, an avid video gamer, a technology enthusiast, and an avid hunter. He was active in his children’s lives serving as coach for their volleyball and soccer teams with the Randleman Recreation program. He was also revered as the cooking connoisseur for his family and known for preparing the famous “Townsend Gravy”. Wes was employed with Rockwell Collins in Winston-Salem, formerly B/E Aerospace. He was a member of South Elm Street Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Tiffiny Townsend; daughter, Taylor Jean Townsend; son, Garrett Wesley Townsend; parents, Ronald and Faye Townsend; sister, Tammy Stewart (Tate); nieces, Lauren Stewart; nephews, Jonathan Hill, Cody Stewart, and Matthew Griffin; great nephews, Aaron and Zachary Lewis and Ryan Stewart; and grandmother, Margie Garrett.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Friday, June 1, 2018 at the funeral home and other times at Tiffiny’s house, 2306 NC Highway 42 South in Asheboro.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the J. Paul Sticht Center, 1 Medical Center Boulevard, Winston-Salem, NC 27157.
The family request that those attending the visitation and service to wear something representing the Duke Blue Devils or something orange as this was Wes’ favorite color.
