Aldera "Sally"
(Amick) Sisk
Dec 27, 1933 — Feb 12, 2023
Aldera "Sally" Sisk, 89, of Greensboro, NC went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, February 12, 2023. Sally was born to Ira Robert Staley and Blanche Lillian Amick. Just as she lived, she made it to Heaven in time for Sunday morning services.
A graveside service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Gilmore Memorial Park in Julian.
Sally, also known affectionately as "Granny Flash", was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was a devout Christian, attending Rehobeth Baptist Church for most of her adult life and was the treasurer for the church for over sixty years. If the doors to the church were open, she was there in the pew, until her illness. Sally lived her life in service to the Lord, her church and her family.
She loved raising a vegetable garden every year, mowing the yard, growing her flowers, and reading her Bible. She would always share the bounties of her garden with her family, friends, and fellow church members. Everyone always loved her silver queen corn that she would freeze to have for family and church functions. Her chicken and dumplings were the best thing you ever put in your mouth along with her original, famous dressing patties.
In addition to her parents, Sally was predeceased by her spouse, William "Bill" Sisk, brother Bobby Lee Amick, granddaughter Michelle Ann Sisk, infant grandson Jeffery Robert Sisk and several unborn great grandchildren.
Surviving are sons William Randy Sisk and wife Beth of Randleman, NC, and Ronnie Wayne Sisk of Pleasant Garden, NC; sister, Shirley King of Greensboro; grandchildren, Tonya Sisk Nelson and spouse Marc of Pleasant Garden, William Chad Sisk and spouse, Kim of Climax, Matthew Allen Sisk of Climax and Marissa Sheppard and spouse Michael of Asheboro. Also surviving are great grandchildren Heather Renee Sisk of Randleman, Callie and Dakota Nelson of Pleasant Garden, Caden Sisk of Climax, and Brody and Bennett Sheppard of Asheboro as well as one great-great grandchild, Kennedy Grace Rivera; along with a host of nieces and nephews; and a very special friend of the family, Lucille Brown of Greensboro.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 17, 2023 from 6-8 PM at George Brothers Funeral Service.
The family would like to thank all of the wonderful nurses of AuthoraCare for all of the exceptional care provided during Sally's final weeks. We would especially like to thank her nurse Karen, CNA Denise, social worker Anne and chaplain Beverly.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to AuthoraCare Collective, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405.
