Aleña Shenell Hammonds, age 41, went Home to her Heavenly Father, on Friday July 14, 2023, at Moses Cone Hospital.

A celebration of life service will be 3:00pm Monday at George Brothers Funeral Service.  The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00pm.

Aleña was born, in San Diego, California, to her mother Wendy Sanderson Hammonds and father Charlie Ray Hammonds. She was a 2003 graduate of Gateway Education Center in Greensboro and was given unconditionally love and care by Community Support Services and by Servant's Heart.

In addition to her mother and father, she is survived by her siblings Takoda Hammonds, Mayrim Lopez, and Alex Sanderson.  Also surviving are several aunts, uncles, one niece, and two nephews who loved her very dearly.
