Mrs. Alice Snyder Maness, age 89, passed away Saturday March 4, 2023 at Blumenthal Nursing and Rehab Center.

A funeral service will be 7:00pm Tuesday at George Brothers Funeral Service. The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00pm Tuesday, at the funeral home.  A graveside committal service will be held 2:00pm Thursday at West Hampton Cemetery in Richmond, Virginia.

Mrs. Maness was born, in Guilford County, North Carolina, to the late Albert and Irene Bolden Snyder.  She was a graduate of St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing and retired from the Medical College of Virginia Hospital.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Leon Maness and daughter Kay Ash; brothers Robert Snyder; sisters Patricia Ashburn, Karen Setzer, and Alberta "Peaches" Schneider.

Mrs. Maness is survived by her sister Linda Allen (John) of Greensboro; two grandchildren Jennifer Ash Wright (Brian) of Charleston, SC and Michael Ash of Greensboro.  Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the charity of one's choice.
