Mrs. Faye Murphy-Gant, 74, passed away peacefully Monday, July 13, 2026, at her residence in North Wilkesboro, NC.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Andrews Memorial Baptist Church in Browns Summit at 2PM with pastors Tom Bowling and Arvil Perry officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 1PM at the church.

Born in Danville, Virginia, Faye was the daughter of the late Henry and Eston Willie Snead. She had been a member of Andrews Memorial Baptist Church since age five. She enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husbands, Russell Lee Murphy and Phillip Marshall James, her brother, Tommy Wayne Snead, and her sister-in-law Sue Snead.

Faye is survived by her husband, Ronald "Ron" Gant; her son, Dennis Aaron James (Rebecca); her brothers, Douglas Howard Snead and David Lee Snead (Terry); and her grandchildren, Henry Austin James, Phillip Edward James, Autumn James Bentley (Ethan), Lauren Brooke James, and Dennis Aaron James, Jr., and her loyal dog Lil Bit.
