Alice Lynette Williams Smith, 85, of Burlington, NC, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Alice was born on September 13, 1938, to the late Earl and Helen Williams of Sedan, KS.

Alice met and married the love of her life, James Henry Smith in 1957, when he accompanied her brother home for a visit while serving in the US Navy.

Alice was a longtime member of Victory Independent Baptist Church of Varnamtown, NC. She most recently attended Friendship Baptist Church of Elon, NC.

Alice was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Henry Smith; parents, Earl and Helen Williams; sister, Diana Vanderpool; brothers, Ernie, Dick, and Art Williams; and grandson, Anthony Perdue.

Alice is survived by her children, Jackie (Pete) Smith of Asheboro; Juanita (Tommy) Cook of Burlington; Kathy Atkins of Ohio; and Jeff Smith of Whitsett.

Alice is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren who loved her dearly.

Friends and Family will be received at Friendship Baptist Church 2541 Elon Ossipee Rd. Elon, NC 27244 from 12-1:30 pm on Thursday, April 4, 2024. The funeral will directly follow the visitation 1:30 pm. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
