Allen "Wayne" Martin, 85, went to his heavenly home, Sunday, January 28, 2024 at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Church Street Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.

Wayne was born March 25, 1938 in Guilford County to the late Allen Woodrow Martin and Esther Peacock Martin. He was an active member of Church Street Baptist Church.  Wayne began his career as a young man, starting his own typesetting business. He later owned and operated Hicone Yogurt and Deli, and served over 35 years as a fireman with Guilford County Fire District 13.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Martin Varner.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Janelle W. Martin; son, Allen Wayne "Marty" Martin, Jr.; daughter, Theresa M. Gordon (Jeff); grandsons, Joshua "Dylan" Gordon (Samantha), and Greyson Martin Gordon; and brother, Roger Lee Martin (Carolyn).

The family will receive friends from 4-6 pm on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at George Brothers Funeral Service.
