Mrs. Billie Ann Honeycutt Chilton, formerly of Pleasant Garden, went home to her Heavenly Father on Saturday, August 1 2026, at Hospice of Union County in Monroe, NC, at the age of 89.
The funeral service will be 2:00pm Wednesday August 5, 2026 at Concord Friends Meeting with Rev. Greg Creed officiating. Visitation precedes the service from 1:00-2:00pm. Following the service, burial will be at Fairfield Community Church Cemetery.
Billie was born in Kannapolis, NC. She was the daughter of Arie Belle Edwards Towery, Julius Arnold Towery, and Leonard Earl Honeycutt. She graduated from Baptist Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina, Florida, and Alaska for many years, following her husband's career with the United States Air Force. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who had a true heart and nature for taking care of all around her. Her greatest joy was being with her grandchildren. She treasured having them stay at her house and to be present and active in their lives. In her spare time, Billie enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking, baking, gardening, and thrifting. She attended Concord Friends Church and enjoyed her ladies circle and many of the church's activities. Billie will be well remembered for a life well lived.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, E. Reid Chilton, and her brother, J. Earl Towery.
Billie is survived by her daughters Lisa C. Corum (Alan) and Tina Chilton Lee (William). She was adored by her grandchildren Jacob Corum (Whitney), Matthew Corum (Alexandria Price), Elizabeth DeVere (Eric), and Braxton Lee (Katherine). She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Jet Corum and Atlas DeVere, as well as her sister-in-law Lynda Towery and several nieces and nephews.
