Mr. Cecil Leroy Thomas, 93, died Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at his residence.

There will be a graveside commital held on Friday, July 28, 2023 at 10:30 am followed by a memorial service at Rehobeth Church with Alvin Garner and Larry McCuiston officiating.

Mr. Thomas was born October 24, 1929 in Guilford County to the late Oliver William and Leola Seawell Thomas.  He was a member of Rehobeth Church where he served as Trustee, was a member of the Barefoot Sunday School Class, and did all of the original electric wiring for the church.  He served in the US Army in Germany on the Russian Border Patrol, and retired from the United States Postal Service as an electrician and maintenance supervisor.  Mr. Thomas was the last original member of the Sumner Civitan Club where he ran the Turkey Shoots for many years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Adeline Thomas; son, Steve Thomas; granddaughter, Faith Victoria Glover; son-in-law, Ken Glover; and sister, Faye Shields.

Mr. Thomas is survived by his daughter, Ellen Thomas Glover; daughter-in-law, Joyce Thomas; grandsons, Chris Thomas (Leah), Zach Thomas (Bristey), Robert Glover (Mary Frances); granddaughter, Gracie Glover (Fiance, Matthew Gean); great-granddaughters, Laylah, Piper, Lily and Wrenley Thomas; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends following the service in the Family Life Center.
