Derek Edward
Holbrook
Mar 15, 1992 — Dec 8, 2023
On December 8, 2023, Derek Edward Holbrook, 31, gained his Angel wings and went to be with his Heavenly Father.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at George Brothers Funeral Service, with burial following at Midway Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-6 pm on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at George Brothers Funeral Service.
Derek was such a wonderful and caring person whose heart was as big as his stature. He loved and he loved hard, no doubt loving his children, Wyatt and Alaina, more than anything else in this world. He was an amazing Daddy and he made it known how great the love he had for his children.
D-ROCK #7 enjoyed all sports. He was a #1 Carolina Tarheels, Saints, Braves and Carolina Hurricanes Fan. He was born a natural baller. Since age 4, he dominated in sports and excelled in baseball and football during his years of school. He treasured playing Adult Softball with his Slim Pickens "family" and playing for charity events. He also loved golf, hunting and fishing.
Derek was very outgoing, kind, generous, big-hearted, and never met a stranger. He was a loyal loving relative and friend to all. He had love and compassion for people with special needs.
He is preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents, Ed and Rosita Holbrook, and his cousin, Dale Holbrook.
He is survived by his wife, Erin and their children, Wyatt Holbrook and Alaina Holbrook; Parents, David and Rhonda Holbrook; Sister, Kim Gardner (Alan); Grandparents, Sid Casey and Shelby Casey; Nephew and Nieces, Landon, Aubrey, Kensi and Jeremiah; Aunts, Sherry Casey and Ann Chandler; Uncles, Rodney Holbrook (Gayle), and Scott Holbrook (Candy). He also leaves behind a host of many cousins. We all will forever cherish his memory.
