Doug Hinton, 79, of Greensboro passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Clapp's Nursing Center in Pleasant Garden.

A memorial service is planned in the spring.

Doug was born in Gibsonville on June 17, 1943 to the late George and Barbara Hinton. He served with the United States Army during the Vietnam era and went on to earn his bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Doug was an accountant with Blue Bell, Inc. and later worked with Lutheran Family Services in Greensboro. He was a long-time member of Mount Pisgah United Methodist Church where he was active in the church choir for many years.

Along with his parents, Doug is preceded in death by his brother, David and his sisters, Ann and Blanche.

Doug is survived by his wife, Dianna Hinton; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Megan Hinton of Park Ridge, IL; grandchildren, Eve, Logan, and Eliza; along with a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews who were beloved to him.
