Mr. Errol Edward "Eddie" Trent, age 78, went home to his Heavenly Father on Thursday December 8, 2022, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

A funeral service will be held 2:00pm Thursday, December 15, at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Thomas, Rev. Chris Davis, and Rev. JR Gossett officiating the service. Mr. Trent will be laid to rest at Guilford Memorial Park with military honors provided by Randolph County Honor Guard.  The family will receive friends, at Grace Baptist Church, beginning 1:00pm Thursday.

Eddie was born in McDowell, county to the late William and Gladys Hanks Trent.  He was a graduate from Randleman High School, a veteran of the United States Navy, and was employed with AKR Builders.  He was an avid golfer and loved spending time on the lake fishing.  Eddie was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church and loved to send Sunday morning messages to his family and friends, that he loved so dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Joe Trent.

Eddie is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Shirley K. Trent of Greensboro; children Shane Trent (Melissa) and Todd Trent (Tammy); sister Linda Adams (Quentin); sister-in-law Diane Kendrick; brother-in-law Joel Kendrick (Pat); grandchildren Austin, Kyle, Rayne, Skylar, Will, and Holden. He is also survived by other children he helped raised including Scottie Sherwood and many special friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions may be sent to Grace Baptist Church 2008 Fairfax Rd. Greensboro, North Carolina 27407.
