Obituary

"Ms. Elizabeth "Ann" Glenn Pruitt, 82, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2023, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital. A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024, at 12:00pm for friends and family. Ann was born on August 25, 1941, in Robbins, North Carolina to the late Otis and Cassie Glenn.  She later moved to Greensboro, where she worked as a bookkeeper and eventually retired from Hoffman & Hoffman.  Ann loved a good Nascar race, and she often said it wasn't easy, but she remained a lifelong fan of her Duke Blue Devils.  She enjoyed summers at the lake and a good night of dancing, although in her later years she blamed all her hip problems on the latter.  Ann adored her dog Fergie and was often found with treats in hand for any four-legged friends that needed a little extra love.  Ann enjoyed sewing and being called on as the neighborhood seamstress.  She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and neighbor; but she was most proud of her title as Mimi.  Her witty banter and warm hugs will surely be missed the most. Alongside her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Pruitt, and siblings Otis Glenn Jr., Hal Glenn, and Kate Shields. Ann is survived by her sister, Ellen Cheek (Larry) along with several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Camden Health and Rehabilitation in Greensboro, North Carolina.  The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff for all of their care during this difficult time."
