Mrs. Frances "Marie" Hunt Swaim, 82, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2023, in Greensboro.

Graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 11:00 am at Fairview Cemetery in Liberty with Pastor Mike Barkley officiating.

Marie loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was an avid collector of Thomas Kinkaid art, loved birds of all types, and loved her dog Bailey.  She started working for Guilford County Schools as a lunch room attendant and retired from the school system after 36 years of service working her way up to being the attendance secretary.  She enjoyed traveling with her family, and had visited many destinations including Aruba, Hawaii, and Disney World.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Hugher Taft Swaim, Jr. just three months to the day prior to her passing; and a son-in-law, Jerry Stobaugh.

She is survived by her daughters, Sherry Stobaugh and Kathy Swaim (John Bald); granddaughters Lindsay Sears (Kent), Corrie Gordon (Elissa); grandson Zackary Hall; and four great-grandchildren and one more on the way.
