Mr. George L. Mantooth, 87, of Greensboro, passed away on July 6, 2023.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, July 8, at George Brothers Funeral Service, 803 Greenhaven Drive, in Greensboro. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. A private graveside will be held at a later date at Gaston Memorial Park.

George was born in Gaston County on January 15, 1936, to the late Charles Lester and Seattle Bryant Mantooth. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-daughter, Donna Moore. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was retired from the United States Postal Service. George was a former member of Sharpe Road Baptist Church and a member of Southeast Baptist Church. He believed Jesus Christ is his Lord and Savior and through His sacrifice on the cross, his sins were forgiven and he will spend eternity in Heaven glorifying the Lord. He most missed his ability to serve his church and travel on missions trips both in the States and abroad.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce "Marie" Mantooth; his best friend "Buddy" the cat; son, Keith Mantooth; daughters, Tina Mantooth Fuller (Blair) and Pamela Mantooth Hall (Ron); his brother, Charles Mantooth (Lillian); seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and his nephews, Mark and Tim Mantooth.
