On October 20, 2026, Geraldine Nave Heafner, 80, moved out of her earthly home and into her heavenly home where she was reunited with her daughter Angel Johnson, her parents Julia A. Nave and Basil G. Nave, and her brother David L. Nave.
She was born July 2, 1946 in Hamlet, NC and lived most of her life in Greensboro, NC where she graduated from Grimsley Senior High School and worked at PBM Graphics until she retired in 2008 to care for her mother. She was a wonderful Christian and was very faithful to her church where she led mission studies and music for many years. She loved to sing gospel music and had an extensive collection of gospel CDs and DVDs. She was a dedicated student of the Bible and taught children in Sunday school for many years.
Geraldine was an avid reader and enjoyed trips to the public library to stock up on reading material. She loved to window shop and take trips to the beach and mountains. She loved animals and never met a four-legged friend she wouldn't offer a loving home. If you were fortunate to be her friend, you knew how big her heart was. She was very giving and never turned away anyone who needed help even if she didn't have much herself.
She is survived by her loving daughter Margaret H. Taylor and husband Mark, grandchildren Robert Taylor, Daniel Robinette and fiancée Christine Ciancio, Sara Lindsay, and Cheyenne Johnson, great-grandchildren Will Dawkins and Claira Robinette, sister Martha Kinney and husband Victor, her brother Marvin Nave and wife Donna, nephew Stephen Roark and wife Heather, and niece Paula Schuler.
A memorial service will be held 1:00pm Saturday October 24, 2026 at George Brothers Funeral Service, 803 Greenhaven Drive, Greensboro, NC 27406 with the Rev. Keith Parker officiating. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at George Brothers Funeral Service.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be left to the Human Society of the Piedmont 4527 W. Wendover Ave. Greensboro, NC 27409.
