Grady L Hockett, 81, of Greensboro died Thursday, January 5, 2023 at his residence.

Funeral will be 2:00 PM Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Living Waters Baptist Church with burial to follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.

Grady was a member of Living Waters Baptist Church. He owned and operated the Furniture Barn formerly in Liberty, NC. In 1993, Grady started and operated the Rand Ol' Opry in the former Curtis Theatre in downtown Liberty where he also performed. His passion was music, and he played several instruments including the dobro, rhythm guitar, and even the banjo.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Hockett and sister, Ann Bruton.

Grady is survived by his children, Susan Dickerson of Whitsett, Lisa Eller (Jeff) of Summerfield, and Alex Hockett of Florida; brother, Phillip Hockett of Liberty; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and his eleven-year friend and companion, Martha Bunton of Pleasant Garden along with her family that he adored.
