Hattie Sue
("Nannie) Hutchins
Dec 25, 1947 — Mar 28, 2023
Hattie Sue "Nannie" Hutchins, 75, of Guilford County, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Moses Cone Hospital.
At her request, no services will be held at this time.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two children, Garland Wayne Patterson, Jr. and Darrell Ross Patterson; and two siblings, Donald Ray "Bud" Hutchens and Patricia Faye Greer.
Hattie was born in Guilford County to Alfard and Cora Lee Hutchins. She attended school before beginning work in the tobacco fields. Hattie went on to become a CNA, working in elder care until her health began declining. She previously attended McLeansville Baptist church where she was saved. Hattie was a Christmas baby who truly enjoyed celebrating. She would celebrate Christmas by going all out with cooking, baking, decorating, and anything else she could do to be festive. She was a wonderful caretaker to her family and to her dogs, Leo and Jack. Her pastimes included watching soap operas, survivor, and the news, as well as collecting Native American art and most importantly playing online games. Hattie saw the best in everyone she encountered and treated everyone like family, truly loving unconditionally, regardless of all else.
She is survived by her children, James Daniel Hutchins, Pattie Sue Patterson (Phillip Perdue), and Tonya Sue Hutchins (Chris Smith); grandchildren, Jason, Jessica, Brandon (Brittni), Dakota, Shane, and Madison; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Alanna, Isaiah, Ava, Ivy, Bradi, Bradin, Carson, and Allison; special aunts, Joann and Shirley; and many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
