Henry Mckinley
Moore, Jr.
Oct 6, 1945 — Jul 13, 2023
Henry McKinley Moore, Jr. a loving husband, father and pawpaw passed on July 13, 2023 and is now singing and worshipping in Jesus' sweet presence.
He was born to the late Henry McKinley Moore, Sr., and Virginia Hudgins Moore on October 6, 1945. His family preceding him in death was siblings Aileen, Sandra, Ricky and Paula.
Leaving behind with blessed memories are his wife Brenda, son Jeff (Karla), daughter Cheryl (Scott) and son Keith (Amanda) with fun and fond memories his grandchildren Michael (Lindsey), Matthew (Sarah), Amanda, Katelyn, Josiah and Bekah; sweet great grands Wyatt, Linc (soon to be a big brother) and Charlie; his sisters Peggy (John) and Pam Summey, his nieces, nephews and his "best buddy" Easton Wood.
Henry loved, was totally devoted and was a faithful provider to his wife Brenda of 59 years. They enjoyed spending time with each other - rocking on the sun porch, taking road trips, whether it was to see the sights of NC, spontaneous trips to see the grandkids or antiquing. He was her favorite person.
He poured into his family, faithfully praying for them, and just enjoying being around them every chance he got, especially the grand kids.
He loved Jesus with his whole heart and served Him faithfully. For many years he was a member and heavily involved at the Church of God of Prophecy as a Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, Teacher, Worship Leader, Soloist, Children's Ministry and summer church camp volunteer.
A huge favorite of Henry's was camping. Camping in a custom remodeled bread truck to a "pop up" and then (when the kids were gone) moving up to a trailer. Awesome memories were made at Dan Nicolas Park, the outer banks and Kerr Lake just to name a few and a very special camping spot at Fall Creek Falls State Park with good friends. He happily shared the camper with family and with the kids from the children's ministry.
Woodworking was a passion for him. He used that talent to make extra space for the growing family, build games, playhouses, furniture, and other pieces that he liked to share with others. He also used that talent to help people and to build things for children's ministry events.
Another passion for him was music. He enjoyed listening to it, but the best part was for us to get to hear him sing. Whether it was at church, weddings, at home, holiday family get-to-gathers or in the car. He sang a lot and we were blessed a lot.
He was a welder for 39 years at Carolina Steel. He carried that skill outside of work into his workshop to make and share yard sculptures for his family and friends.
He loved to do for others anytime there was an opportunity, he generously gave from his heart and we will forever be blessed by the impact he has had on our lives.
A very special thank you to Hospice Home of the Piedmont. Their great compassion and kind care for Henry and the family was a great blessing.
