Mrs. Hilda Byrd Johnson, age 72, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at Beacon Place.

A funeral service will be 11:00 am at Rankin Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Scronce officiating the service.  Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends beginning 10:00 am Monday at Rankin Baptist Church.

Mrs. Johnson was born in Lancaster, South Carolina, to the late Rev. John and Aline Funderburk Byrd.  She was a previous member of Sixteenth Street Baptist Church, and most recently a member of Rankin Baptist Church.  Every week, she always enjoyed cooking a family Sunday meal for everyone to enjoy. In addition to cooking, she enjoyed fishing, gospel music, and spending time with her family that adores her.  Hilda also loved her dog "Bella".

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her beloved husband of forty-six years, David Johnson; daughters Hillary Levy (Jon) and Heather Caronna (Johnathon); sister Johnnie Greene.  She was cherished by her three grandchildren Trinity Smith, Hannah Paschal, and Savannah Caronna.
