Mr. Hugher Taft "H.T." Swaim, Jr. passed away Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Beacon Place in Greensboro.

Graveside service will be held Saturday, January 7, 2022 at Fairview Cemetery in Liberty at 1:00pm.

Mr. Swaim was born to the late Hugher Taft Sr. and Avis Mcleod Swaim in Liberty. He loved his hometown and was very fond of Liberty High School where he graduated from. H.T. could fix anything with his WD-40, duct tape, and a paper clip. He was a huge family man and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid fan of all things cars, cheering on NASCAR and reminiscing about his '57 Chevy. He loved his vacation to Hawaii and pier fishing at the beach. His favorite was orange juice, and he was stubborn in his own way. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son-in-law Jerry Stobaugh.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marie Swaim; daughters Sherry Stobaugh and Kathy Swaim (John Bald); granddaughters Lindsay Sears (Kent), Corrie Gordon (Elissa); grandson Zackary Hall; and four great-grandchildren and one more on the way.
