Mr. James Anderson Glidewell, born on July 11, 1928 to the late Elex and Maude Glidewell, graduated and went Home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, December 6, 2022.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 11:00 am at Church Street Baptist Church with Pastor Tyler Gaulden officiating.  Burial will follow the service in their family cemetery in Critz, Va.

Along with his parents, Mr. Glidewell was preceded by his wife, Avery Glidewell; brother, Elijah Glidewell; and sister, Maureen Spencer.

Mr. Glidewell was a member of Church Street Baptist Church for 54 years, where he faithfully served as a deacon during those years.  He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Korean War during 1952-1953 as a railroad yard master, and he was a loving husband, father, Pawpaw, and friend.

He is survived by his daughter, Debbie G. Boxman (Andy); grandchildren, Chris Murray (Jeanne) and Amber Patterson (John); six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Ralph Glidewell (Ida) and Bobby Glidewell (Rhonda); and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday morning from 10:00-11:00 prior to the service.
