On Friday, November 11, 2022, Martha Jean Tucker Greeson, a loving mother, passed away at age 91. At the time of her death, she was a resident at Fairfax Hills Senior Living, a residential care facility in Raleigh, NC.

Jean was born on November 21, 1930 in Pleasant Garden, NC to Emmett and Rachel Tucker. She graduated from Pleasant Garden High School in 1948 and attended King's Business College in Greensboro, NC. Jean was employed by Burlington Mills Corporation (and later Burlington Industries, Inc.) for more than 30 years.  On November 2, 1949, she married Dennis Greeson. They raised one son, Mickey.

After retirement, Jean was active in efforts to incorporate the Town of Pleasant Garden.  Later, after the Town was incorporated in 1997, she served on the Town's Long-Range Planning Board. Jean was also active in the Pleasant Garden Historical Society and eventually served as the organization's treasurer.  She was interested in genealogy and organized several family reunions. Jean was a devoted end-of-life caregiver for her father, her sister and a friend who had Parkinson's disease. She loved animals, especially cats. She was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Climax, NC.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Wood Greeson; her father, Emmett Zadoc Tucker, Sr, her mother, Rachel Frances Weatherly Tucker; her two brothers Emmett Zadoc Tucker, Jr, and Charles Lee Tucker; and her two sisters, Meritta Ann "Nubbie" Tucker and Nelle Tucker Rudd.

She (Mawmaw) is survived by her son, Mickey Ray Greeson and wife Sharon of Raleigh, NC, her three granddaughters, Shannon, Courtney and Lindsey and her three great granddaughters, Madison, Taylor and Quinn.

The family will have a private graveside service at Guilford Memorial Park when Mawmaw will be buried next to her husband, Den.
