Mr. Jeffrey Lynn Key, 60, of Liberty, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Moses Cone Hospital.

Memorial gathering will be held at George Brothers Funeral Service from 2:00-4:00pm Sunday, July 16, 2023, with a brief service held at 3:30pm.

Jeffrey was born in Guilford County to the late William Cecil and surviving Muriel Mitchell Key. He attended Northeast Guilford High School. Jeff was employed as a truck driver until his health declined. Mr. Key enjoyed vacations with family to White Lake, NC and would use any excuse to take a trip to town in Liberty, NC. He loved to socialize and most enjoyed making people smile with his jokes and funny sayings. Jeff also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and all things ultralight airplanes including piloting, instructing, and working on them.

Mr. Key is survived by the love of his life of 39 years, Susan Hawkins Key; son, Trevor Key; brothers, Rodney McDowell (MaryAnn) and Tim Key (Caroline); niece, Alisa McCutcheon; nephews, Andrew Key, Daniel Key, and Rod McDowell; also surviving are many cousins, friends, and extend family members who will miss him dearly.
