Mr. Joe David Dickens, age 88, passed away Friday June 16, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

A memorial service will be held 11:00am Tuesday at George Brothers Funeral Service Chapel.

Mr. Dickens was born, in Randolph County, to the late William and Lillian Spoon Dickens.  He was a graduate of Liberty High School and served in the National Guard.  He retired from Dillard Paper Company, with over twenty-five years of service. Joe was a very devoted family man and fisherman. He enjoyed wood working and restoring old furniture.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Martha Ann Carter and brother Harold William Dickens.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of sixty-three years Ruth Dickens; daughters Dee Coleman (Robert) and Michelle Deaton (Mike); sister Hilda Rose Johnson (Pike ). He was adored by his two grandchildren Brittany Deaton (Jon) and Taylor Deaton (Naveen).
