It is with great sorrow, that the Burroughs Family announces the passing of John "Johnny" Lee Burroughs Jr., on March 30th, 2023. After a brief battle with small cell cancer, Johnny passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, at 72.

Johnny was born in Greensboro, North Carolina, on November 1st, 1950, to the late John Lee Burroughs Sr., and Betty Jane Burroughs.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Dean Burroughs; his sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and David Stafford; special life long friend, Becky Burroughs. He is survived by his daughter Tiffany Burroughs; three sisters, Debra Dodson (Buzz), Sheila Wall (Russell), and Pamela Burroughs, and brother Wayne Burroughs; his grandchildren, Montana Arthur (Jeremy), Stone LaVigne, and Mollie Grace Ellias; his two great grandsons, Jeremiah and Israel Arthur; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Johnny was one of a kind— a proud US Army veteran, with a love for music and classic cars, and was loyal to Harley Davidson, Chevrolet, John Deere, and the Duke Blue Devils. He enjoyed maintaining the yards of several friends and family, and did so proudly. He was fond of watching and playing sports, fishing, and playing poker with his buddies.
