Judith F. Byrd, 83, died Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Wesley Long Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 8, 2023 at McConnell Road Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Byrd was born October 26, 1940 in Benson NC to the late Edwin Wilson Freeman and Ruby Surles Freeman. She was a member of McConnell Road Baptist Church where she served as Treasurer for 33 years.  Mrs. Byrd received her Accounting degree from High Point University.  She worked as the Assistant to the Vice President and President for Southern Life for 27 years. Mrs. Byrd also worked for both the Guilford County Clerk of Court in Greensboro, as well as, the Clerk's office for North Carolina in the Child Support Division.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Bruce Byrd; son, Dean Byrd and wife Michelle; daughter, L. Ann Byrd; grandson, Landon Dean Byrd; sisters, Jean Dale Freeman Lee, Cathy Freeman Jackson; stepsister, Jan Ellington; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12-4pm on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made the Building Fund at McConnell Road Baptist Church, 3911 McConnell Road, Greensboro NC 27406.
