Kenlin Dale Lund "Ken", a proud Veteran of the United States Navy, passed away December 5, 2022 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice House.

Ken never met a stranger and always had a smile on his face.

He was born in 1946 in Sycamore, IL to Wilmer O. Lund & Ruth L. Lund. He grew up in Rockford, IL and attended Winnebago High School, graduating in the class of 1964. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1967 and proudly served his country until 1973. Ken valued this service highly and attended the rank of Radarman 3rd class. He attended Guilford Technical Institute and obtained his Associate Degree of Applied Science in Accounting in 1978. Ken retired as a supervisor from Lorillard Tobacco company after being employed for 34 years. He was an avid golf player and enjoyed watching sports of all kinds. He enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and to the beach with his wife Martha. Ken loved his granddaughters very much and rarely missed a dance competition or dance recital. He adored his daughter and granddaughters who called him "Pappy" and cherished each moment he had with them.

In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his brother Karl Lund and his first wife Lynn Lund.

Ken is survived by his wife of 14 years Martha Johnson Lund; daughter Ashley Sheley of Rockwell; granddaughters Emma & Addison: brother Rick Lund: sister Jan Lund (David): 4 nieces and nephews Sarah (Paul), Krista (Jon), Eric (Kym), and Alex.

The family would like to thank Trellis Supportive Care for providing excellent care for Ken over the last 3 months of his life. The family is especially grateful for all of Ken's caregivers that provided care and support for him at home.

A celebration of life will be held on December 28, 2022, at 1:00pm at George Brothers Funeral Home.
