Major Herbert William Donahue, Jr. was born on January 31, 1943 in the mountains of SW Pennsylvania. He was the eldest of five and the only son. Major Donahue (Ret.) had five biological children and three with his current wife, Dolores. Major Donahue is preceded in death by his father (Herbert William, Sr.), his mother (Elva Irene Smithson), and two sons, Kenneth and Chuck. Major Donahue leaves behind three daughters; Jewel, Angie, Ashley, and three sons; Patrick, Michael, and Billy.
Major Donahue served his country honorably as a United States Marine for 29 years. Through those years his achievements are too robust to enumerate. He loved his family and taught his children to be honorable and patriotic. Following retirement from the Marine Corps, Major Donahue founded United American Patriots and assisted countless veterans. He passed this torch to his friend, David "Bull" Gurfein who continues Major Donahue's passionate legacy of continuing to serve veterans.
Our father's language of love, for family and others, was acts of service. He exemplified this throughout every stage of his life. He has ensured that his legacy of service continues, through family left behind and the work of United American Patriots. The world has lost a great father, husband, and Marine. Heaven has gained an eternal warrior.,
Semper Fi, Dad!
