Marie E. Brown, 81, of Greensboro died Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.

Funeral will be11:00 AM Monday, March 4, 2024 at George Brothers Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.

Marie was born January 14, 1943 in Wilson, NC to the late Wilbur and Agnes Ellen. She worked with Optical Wholesale in Greensboro for more than forty years until just recently when her health forced her to quit. She loved working and helping others. Marie also loved raising her Dachshunds for many years.

Along with her parents, Marie is preceded in death by her son, Perry Pegram; and siblings, Donald Ray Ellen, Melody Ellen, Carolyn Harris, Pat Hutcherson, Charlie Wayne Ellen, and Diana Jones.

Marie is survived by her husband of forty-seven years, William Brown of the home; daughter, Penny Richardson (Jeff); granddaughter, Elizabeth Westmoreland (Bobby); great grandchildren, Chance, Logan, and Peyton; and siblings, Brenda Caudle, Wilbur Ellen, George Ellen, and Tammy Boland.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 am Monday at the funeral home prior to the service.
