Obituary

We regretfully announce the passing of Marilyn Parkinson Meridith of Orlando, FL and Liberty, NC on December 07, 2022 in Greensboro, NC. Marilyn "got there when she would get there" surrounded by family and passed away peacefully on her own timing while not being a burden to her family.

Our mother, Marilyn, was one of the most vibrant and kind hearted women to ever walk this earth and our family was blessed to have her as the head of the family. Marilyn graduated from Stetson University, FL with a Masters degree and encouraged everyone she met to get an education, "as it is something that could never be taken away from you." After graduating, she went on to pursue a career in Elementary Education.  She met our father, LaMar, and together they went on to have three children, Deborah Meridith, Woody Meridith and Brittany Meridith Yokeley. Marilyn had one granddaughter, Emma, who she respectively knew Marilyn as Oma. Marilyn was a wonderful and loving mother who gave her all to her family. We will never be able to fill the space left behind by her.

Marilyn was predeceased by her parents, William and Ellen Parkinson, brother, Bill Parkinson and spouse, Martha Parkinson, her sister, Marlene McCarthy and spouse John McCarthy and many close friends.

She is survived by daughter Deborah Meridith, son Woody Meridith, daughter and son-in-law Brittany Meridith Yokeley and Mark Yokeley, granddaughter Emma and extended family member Juan Carlos Granados brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Vy Parkinson, sister and brother-in-law, Pauline and Ralph Sanford, along with many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held Spring 2023, which was Marilyn's favorite time of year with all the flowers blooming.
