Mary Josephine Baugh, 93, passed away on August 12, 2026, at Wesley Long Hospital following a brief illness.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at George Brothers Funeral Service with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:15 until 1:45 pm at the funeral home prior to the service.

Born December 30,1932, in Woodland NC, she graduated from East Carolina University in 1955 and taught school briefly in Sunbury and New Bern NC.  In 1957 she married her husband of 69 years, Marvin E. Baugh and moved to Greensboro, NC in 1960.  She will be remembered as a loving wife and mother to her family.  Her kind heart and warm smile brought joy to all who knew her.  She was a long time member of Centenary United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elton G. and Dorothy T. Outland.

Mary Jo is survived by her husband, Marvin; sister, Anne B. Outland; children, David G. Baugh, and Leslie Anne Hannon (Patrick); grandchildren, Caroline Crater and Charlotte Crater (Carlos); and great-granddaughter, Marina Bardales.
