Mr. Melvin Leon Edwards, Jr., 73, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at Moses Cone Hospital.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, January 29, 2023 at George Brothers Funeral Service at 3:00pm.

Mr. Edwards is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Leon Edwards, Sr. and Rachel Baker Edwards.

Melvin enjoyed all things antique. He was an auctioneer for a time, and he was very knowledgeable about any kind of collectable. He could refinish or fix-up any kind of furniture, dishes, jewelry, clothing; and if he didn't already know how, he would find a book to learn how. He was born and raised in Guilford County, attending Grimsley High School and Eastern Carolina University. He enjoyed watching westerns, knew how to shag, and loved many kinds of music. Mr. Edwards will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mr. Edwards is survived by his two sons, Joshua Edwards and Aaron and Nikki Edwards; his grandson Kaden Edwards; aunt Nelva Grace; and special cousin Ruth Ann Jones.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service until 5:00pm.
