Robert “Bob” Murray James passed away peacefully the morning of October 31, 2026 in Greensboro, NC. He was born on January 26, 1959 to Murray and Carolyn James in Chattanooga, TN. He will be missed by his wife, Janice Nagengast James, both parents, sisters Tracy (Ron) Lewis of Taylors, SC and Lori (Arthur) Upshur of Summerville, SC and many nephews, nieces and cousins.

Bob came to saving faith in Christ as a teenager. He was an active member of Vandalia Baptist Church in Greensboro, NC. Bob enjoyed participating in the special programs at the church and the Young-At-heart group.

He attended St. Andrews High School in Charleston, SC before attending both Clemson University and Bob Jones University. He supported his family for many years as an Autocad designer.

The memorial service for Bob will be on November 7, 2026 at 10:30 am preceded by a visitation from 10-10:30 at Vandalia Baptist Church, 3925 Pleasant Garden Rd, Greensboro, NC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Vandalia Baptist Church Missions.

Bob’s wishes would be to share his Christian faith and encourage others to seek out a personal relationship with God.
