Peggy Irene Holt Carlton, 88, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on the morning of Friday, February 3, 2023.

Peggy was born February 5, 1934, in Guilford County to the late George Howard Holt and Halcy Shepherd Holt.  She was a lifetime member of Bethel Presbyterian Church.

Peggy had a love for all people. Her family was her entire world, especially her wonderful grandchildren whom she adored with all of her heart.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Graham Hunter "Red" Carlton, and sister, Frances Holt Alcon.

Peggy is survived by her daughter, Jan Carlton Clemmons, and husband, Jeff; grandchildren, Lacey Clemmons and Linden Clemmons; nephews, Glenn Alcon (Pat) and Jerry Alcon (Shirley); nieces, Beth Alcon Andrews (Tony) and Sharon Alcon Smith (Tim).

A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Bethel Presbyterian Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Her pallbearers will be Glenn Alcon, Jerry Alcon, Tim Smith, Tony Andrews, Holt Alcon, Benjamin Andrews, and Stephen Smith.
