Mr. Perry Allen Baker, 77, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at his home with his wife by his side.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2023 at 2:00 pm at New Bessemer Baptist Church located at 4115 Hines Chapel Rd. McLeansville, NC with Pastor Bud Parrish officiating.

Mr. Baker was preceded in death by his parents, Conrad and Rachael Baker; and he was the youngest of six children all of whom are deceased.

Perry loved to go fishing, both in fresh and saltwater.  He was a chef, a musician (playing base guitar and keyboard), played in several different bands, was a mechanic most of his life, and worked in security at Whitestone for several years.  He served his country in the National Guard.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Gwen Baker; children, Renee Barnes (Chris), Karen Hunt (Michael), and David Callahan (Pat); former daughter-in-law, Pam Callahan; grandchildren, Brittany, Briana, and David Wayne; great-grandchild, Asia; his New Bessemer Baptist Church family; and a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends whom he loved.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 5, 2023 from 1:00-2:00 pm at the church prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County 2150 NC-65 Reidsville, NC 27230.

Following the service, family and friends will be gathering at David's house at 4323 Burlington Rd. Greensboro, NC 27405.
