Mr. Robert Lester Routh, Jr., age 67, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday July 4, 2023, at Moses Cone Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am Friday at Southside Baptist Church with Dr. Howard McNeil officiating the service.  A burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 6:00pm-8:00pm Thursday at George Brothers Funeral Service.

Mr. Routh was born, in Guilford County, to the late Robert Lester Routh, Sr. and Ramona Cox Newby.  He was a graduate of Southern Guilford High School and received an associate degree from Guilford Technical Community College. He was a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and, in charge of the security team. He also enjoyed playing golf.

In addition to his mother, Ramona Cox Newby and stepfather, Paul "Sonny" Newby he is survived by his loving wife, of forty-eight years Patty Routh; daughter Jennifer Oates (Matt), Jessica Gamble (Charlie), and Amanda Routh; sister Rejeanna Gwynn (Steve).  Also surviving are seven grandchildren, and many extended family members.
