Mr. Roger "Rogie" Shawn Moorefield, 47, of Kernersville, passed away on March 9, 2024, at Trellis Hospice Home in High Point after a courageous battle with cancer

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, March 14, 2024 at George Brothers Funeral Service in Greensboro. The burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, also in Greensboro. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service.

Rogie was born in Guilford County to his late parents, Roger L. Moorefield and Ellen Black Moorefield. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Billy Rieson. He was of the Catholic Faith. He selflessly served his community as a police officer with the Reidsville Police Department, was also a member of the Greensboro Piedmont Civil Air Patrol and was a Donor Service Coordinator for 18 years with Honor Bridge. He loved life and had many interests including his love of Hockey and NASCAR, he enjoyed working on cars, shooting sports, going camping and going to the beach. He will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Rogie is survived by his wife of 8 years, Angie Moorefield; his siblings, Greg Moorefield (Beth) and Rick Moorefield (Sherrie); aunt, Mary Plaster (Warren); his two beloved dogs, "Charlie" and "Riley"; parents-in-law, Matthew and Helen Wilson and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
