Mr. Rufus Henry Etchison, Jr., aged 75, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at his home.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, May 14, 2026, at George Brothers Funeral Service.  The family will receive friends following the service.

Born in Alamance County to the late Rufus and Peggy Wilson Etchison, Sr., Mr. Etchison was the owner of R&D Towing Company in Greensboro. He pursued numerous interests, including fishing, collecting model cars, and attending races at the Piedmont Drag Strip.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Phillip Etchison and Rufus "Scott" Etchison; granddaughter Heather Boyd; and sisters Nancy Wilson and Beth Etchison.

Mr. Etchison is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Pamela Diane Etchison; daughters Megan Etchison and Pamela Christina Etchison; daughter-in-law Brandy Etchison; grandchildren Alexis Etchison Jones and husband Scott Jones, Austyn Etchison, Alyssa Etchison, Ainsley Honeycutt, Carl Boyd, Jr.  and wife Kayla Boyd, and Michael Boyd; as well as great-grandchildren Chris, Gabriella, Emerly, Brailyn, Hunter, Noah, Maddox, Maverick, Audrey, Zigman, and Lainey.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to assist with final expenses.
