Mr. Samuel Wayne Bunton, age 72, went Home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Moses Cone Hospital.

A memorial service will be held 2:00pm Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Shining Light Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Blalock and Rev. Mike Barnett (Pastor of McLeansville Baptist Church) officiating the service.  The family will receive friends from 1:00pm -2:00pm Saturday at the church.

Mr. Bunton was born, in Guilford County, to the late James and Hazel Bunton.  He was a graduate of Northeast Senior High School and was a faithful member of Shining Light Baptist Church for the past forty-five years.  He was employed with Southern Bell for twenty-seven years and later became the owner and operator of Sam's Auto, on Burlington Rd, in Greensboro.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Esther Murrell.

Samuel is survived by his loving wife, of fifty years, Renee Bunton; son David Bunton; grandson Trevor Bunton and his mother Jennifer Bunton; brother Danny Bunton and Faye; brother-in-law Jerry Murrell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Shining Light Baptist Church 4530 W. Wendover Ave. Greensboro, NC  27409.
