Mrs. Sylvia Irene Maness Watkins, age 81, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023 at her residence.

A memorial service will be 2:00pm Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Good Shepherd Church of Greensboro. The family will receive friends prior to the service.

Mrs. Watkins was born, in Guilford County, to the late James and Jewel Allred Maness. She enjoyed spending her time scrapbooking, working puzzles, organizing anything that needed organized, decorating for the holidays, and watching birds.  She loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her dog Scotty, and enjoyed her time spent at the beach and the mountains.  She was known for her most beautiful handwriting.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life who she missed greatly, James Boyd Watkins; and great-grandson, Cerin Savath.

Sylvia is survived by her daughters Lisa Taylor and husband Ronnie of Greensboro, Amy Fields and husband Jim of Greensboro, and Celeste Tucker and husband Lonnie of Colfax.   Also surviving are seven grandchildren; Melissa Leveridge, Stephanie Taylor, James Taylor, Brandon Fields, Olivia Fields, Madelyn Tucker, and Katelyn Tucker; and eleven great-grandchildren; Seth Williams, Eli Savath, Penelope Leveridge, Jaimeson Taylor, Amelia Savath, Landyn Fields, Eevee Taylor, Loralai Leveridge; Liberty Fields, Xena Taylor, and Charlize Savath; sister, Judy Pope, and husband Jimmy; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends whom she loved.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The American Heart Association or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
