Mrs. Virginia "Diane" Justice Watkins, 81, went home to her Heavenly Father on Friday, July 31, 2026, at Moses Cone Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Brown Summit Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Lebanon Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 to 2:45 p.m.

A native of Guilford County, Diane was born to the late Robert and Mary "Jenny" Moss Justice. She was a member of Brown Summit Baptist Church and retired as a supervisor from Lucent Technologies.

In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-one years, Oddie Edward Watkins; grandson, Tyler Chrisco; and brothers, Moya (Lois), Coy (Mary Jane), Red, Bobby, and Shot Justice.

She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Watkins; son, Bryan Watkins; grandchildren, Katie (Daniel), Chase (Forrest), and Nick (Trisha); and great-grandchildren, Khloe, Patience, Hadley, Oaklynn, and Sawyer; brothers R. L. Justice (Libby), Jesse Justice (Linda), and Duke Justice (Sharon).
