Obituary

Walter D. Allen, III, passed away from a brief battle with cancer, on Thursday, December 15, at Wesley Long Hospital, with his wife Dianne by his side.

Walt deeply loved his family and would do anything for them.  Walt never met a stranger, was always the life of the party, would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need, and was loved by so many people.

Walt enjoyed beach trips and visits to Cherokee with his wife Dianne and sometimes the entire family would go together.  Most evenings you could find Walt and Dianne on the porch listening to beach music and reminiscing about the past. He adored his family so much. Walt loved his daughter Heather more than life itself and had a good relationship with his son-in-law, Jack.  He loved his grandson Liam, who called him Pop.  Walt took pride in watching Liam grow and thrive in school as well as in Tae Kwon Do. Walt was so proud that Liam was earning his black belt this month. He loved his nephew River and would ask how many A's he had in school and would reward him accordingly. He loved his great niece Emma who called him WaWa. Walt loved his nephew Brian like a son and had a special relationship with his wife Tami (Tamster). He had a special love for his sister Teresa & his sister-in-law Marshand.  He also had a special love for his sister Sue and was her Uber Goober driver.  The highlight of each day was going to Jake's Diner to eat the best breakfast around.  He loved the entire Jake's staff, and they made him feel very special.

Walter was in sales most of his career, he had a passion for deals and loved helping people.

In addition to his parents, Marie & Chuck Bonnstetter, Walter was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Jeff Heath and his mother-in-law Shirley Shoffner.

Walter is survived by his wife of 39 years, Dianne Marlowe Allen, daughter Heather Callaham (Jack), sisters, Sue Heath & Teresa Bonnstetter (Marshand); grandson Liam Callaham, nephews Brian Silva (Tami) & River Hager & great niece Emma Grace Silva. He is also survived by many friends who felt like family.
