Mr. Walter McKinley Southern, Jr., 77, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024, at Greenhaven Nursing and Rehab.

A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2024, from 2:00-4:00 pm at George Brothers Funeral Service.

Mr. Southern was preceded in death by his father, Walter McKinley Southern, Sr. mother Lucy Mae Woodard Cox and stepfather Oscar Lloyd Cox.

Walter was a long-time diesel mechanic who loved anything with wheels.  He loved spending time with family and listening to Elvis.  He served his country in the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his daughter, Annette Colucci (Vinny); son, Keith Southern (Melissa); grandchildren, Nathan, Eric, Michelle, Melissa, Megan, Hannah, and Christina; great-grandchildren, Haleigh, Chloe, Arya, and Maddox; brother, Jim Southern (Linda); as well as numerous family and friends whom he loved.
